FOR ADULTS
Assessments for adults increase understanding and help you make informed decisions about your abilities and functioning at work, within your relationships, and with family members. These assessments — and the resulting diagnosis — often come years after you first start struggling. You can finally experience the sense of clarity and relief you've been searching for.
For Children
Assessments for children help you get the answers you need. They give parents a greater understanding of a child's behaviour and/or academic performance — so your child can finally get the necessary support they need to thrive. Our psychologists work collaboratively with school teams to ensure recommendations are put into practice.

Assessment Type 01
A psychoeducational assessment can help if you or your child are experiencing difficulty in school, concerned about potential learning disabilities, or worried about cognitive functioning and abilities.
With in-depth evaluation, individuals are assessed in several ways — including cognition, academics, behaviour, and adaptive abilities — to better explain learning and/or behavioural difficulties. At Wholeness Psychology Centre, we will support you to be free from the overwhelm and confusion.
Cognitive processing, logical reasoning, memory, attention, and executive functioning
Current academic knowledge, skills, and learning performance
Social, behavioural, and emotional functioning
Adaptive abilities and real-world daily functioning
Ed Psychs also give you a clear picture of your or your child's strengths and vulnerabilities, then provide a practical path to building on those strengths and overcoming or adapting to the challenges. For many adults and children, having a psychoeducational assessment is the first step toward receiving recommendations, securing a diagnosis, and accessing a range of timely interventions and support programs.

Assessment Type 02
Behavioural assessments study and evaluate an individual's behaviour using various techniques, including observation, interviewing, and standardized assessment tools. You might consider a behavioural assessment if you, your family member, or your child is experiencing:
Distraction or difficulty staying focused
Avoidance of tasks or situations
Struggles with memory
Anger or aggression
Behavioural assessments provide clarity on the root causes of these patterns and give you and your support team concrete, actionable recommendations to move forward.

Assessment Type 03
ADHD is a brain disorder identified by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development at school, work, or in relationships. Understanding your or your child's needs can make all the difference for the future.
Symptoms for child and adult ADHD include struggles with focus and concentration, hyperactivity, disorganization, and emotional regulation at school and home.
A teacher or guidance counsellor has raised concerns about a student's performance
You recognize ADHD symptoms in your child or yourself after reading about them
An adult is experiencing similar challenges at work or at home
ADHD assessment is a multi-step process involving clinical examination, interview, behavioural and social observations, and completion of rating scales. Assessment typically includes a comprehensive evaluation of information gathered from several sources — including parents/caregivers, family members, teachers, and partners.
A child and adult ADHD assessment can help you secure a diagnosis, access medications if needed, and get a range of recommendations to support your success or that of your partner or child.

Assessment Type 04
Getting your child assessed for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) early has significant benefits to their development. It helps you understand your child's needs better, gives you and your child access to important resources, and enables them to get additional academic support.
If you're an adult and suspect you may be on the spectrum, a diagnosis can give you peace of mind and support you in various ways — socially, professionally, and personally.
Struggles with social communication1 and interaction, both verbally and nonverbally
Maladaptive patterns of behaviour that affect movements and sensory experiences
Assessment indicators can vary depending on age and severity. Our team works sensitively and collaboratively to make the process as comfortable as possible for individuals of all ages.
