Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder — Children & Adults
ADHD is a brain disorder identified by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity. These patterns interfere with functioning or development at school, work, or relationships. Diagnosing ADHD is not a straight line — the mental health effects and symptoms of ADHD are often not enough on their own, which is why a formal assessment is essential.
Symptoms for child and adult ADHD include struggles with focus and concentration, hyperactivity, disorganization, and emotional regulation at school and home. Individuals can also struggle with emotional dysregulation or a mood disorder — these can manifest in adults like a learning disability, and when not managed appropriately, can lead to physical health concerns too.
